Good to know
Welcome to Boogie Nights Manor! Jokingly named for its late-70s resemblance to the house in the movie “Boogie Nights,” this large, custom-built, passive-solar, fun, and wacky house – built by a famous frankfurter inventor – offers multiple gathering places, along with relaxation, recreation, and entertainment in one of the most picturesque spots you'll ever discover. Step into Boogie Nights Manor’s vestibule area via convenient keyless entry and go claim your bedroom from your choice of four bedrooms. Discover the majestic Master Bedroom on the main level with its stunning hand-carved Kenyan king bed flanked by bedside tables with lamps. Parents traveling with small children will welcome the option to have them sleep in the twin bed with twin trundle. A large armchair and ceiling fan enhance your comfort in this oasis. Wind down to sleep watching the 50" LG smart TV. Store your belongings in the dresser, closet, and luggage rack. You’ll love the convenience of the ensuite bathroom with its delightful, large 70s bathtub, double-sink vanity, and all bathroom essentials. Those seeking a little extra privacy may favor the Patio Bedroom off the lower screened patio (and accessed from the patio), which offers the most privacy of the bedroom choices. This room offer a queen bed, bedside tables with lamps, chair, and vanity table with mirror. Storage is in the form of a dresser, closet, and luggage rack. The upstairs Tiki Bedroom offers a queen bed, bedside tables, a chair, and access to the front balcony. Storage options include a large, mirrored closet and luggage rack. Find the rear upstairs African Bedroom with its African carvings and queen-size bed hand-carved in Kenya. You’ll have bedside tables with lamps, ceiling fan, chair, and direct access to the front balcony. Storage is available in the closet and luggage rack. To accommodate additional sleeping needs, you’ll find a sleeper sofa in the library. Once you’re settled in, head back to the spacious main living room and relax on the plentiful comfy seating in the warm of the gas fireplace with host-supplied propane. Take in the soaring ceiling and flood of natural light from some of the 50 large-pane windows on the home’s façade. Watch your favorite shows, movies, and sports on the 65" living-room LG smart TV, using an Apple-TV unit to access host-provided popular streaming channels – Netflix, Apple TV, Hulu, Peacock, Discovery+, MAX, and Amazon Prime TV. Or play board games from the large supply of host-provided games. Other entertainment options include a record player and Karaoke setup. Get some fresh air and explore the multiple outdoor-adjacent gathering spots, including upper patio, downstairs screened patio, stone patio, upper front balcony, and sunporch – all delightful venues for socializing and sipping hot or cold beverages. Kiddos and doggos will love romping in the large front yard. In the evening, laugh, tell stories, and make memories around the firepit with Adirondack chairs. Back inside, check out the loft space, which functions as a second living room and provides access to the balcony. Guests, especially the youthful ones, love this space; some even like to sleep here on the cushy leather sofa and loveseat. For quiet contemplation, hang out in the library amid shelves and shelves of art objects and books. Should you need to do remote work, you’ll find two desk-and-chair setups, one of which includes a 27" iMac with printer. At mealtime, prep and cook in the fully equipped kitchen with all standard major appliances – refrigerator, stove/oven, dishwasher, and microwave – along with handy small appliances – premium Vitamix blender, regular blender, crockpot, and toaster. You’ll find ample prep space on the countertops, along with all the cookware, bakeware, dishware, flatware, glassware, serving-ware, and utensils you need to prepare and serve your favorite meals. Grab your morning coffee from the coffee station with coffeemakers for FOUR ways to make coffee – 2 Keurigs, standard drip coffeemaker and French press – along with a 24-setting coffee-bean grinder, complimentary k-cups, and whole-bean coffee. Dine in the dining area at the table for 8, with space for more chars and supplemented by the kitchen barstools and a smaller table. Or dine al fresco at the table for 6 on the downstairs screened patio. You’ll find the gas grill located on the stone patio near the firepit. Refresh and rejuvenate in the two bathrooms in addition to the Master ensuite, both providing all bathroom essentials. A bathroom off the library offers a full shower, and the third bathroom upstairs adjacent to the loft space and upstairs bedrooms has a tub/shower combo. Other Details to Note
Up to 3 pets permitted on a case-by-case basis with prior approval. Once hosts approve, you’ll receive a separate payment request through the AirBnB platform for $55/per pet/per stay. The fee for each pet brought without approval is $150/per pet. Late checkout is available, as long as new guests are not arriving on checkout day. Weekends at Boogie Nights Manor tend to book up 4+ months in advance, so reserve early for your chance to stay at the weirdest (mostly in a good way). The longer you stay, the more interesting artwork and artifacts you'll discover. Neighbors reside on the firepit side of the property, so please avoid loud outdoor noise after 10 pm. At that time, please bring the volume indoors and utilize the outdoor spaces for calmer firepit and screened-porch activities. If you plan to use the firepit, picking up a couple small bundles of wood is recommended. Many local grocery and convenience stores carry them for $7-9 per bundle.

Location
Afton/Nellysford is still fairly rural, so you’ll need a vehicle in most cases if you’re visiting breweries and vineyards. UBER can be a bit hit or miss, but there are several taxi/tour that service the local area should you choose to “sample” all the local flavors :). The Nelson County government website maintains a listing of local businesses to include taxi and tour providers. That listing can be found on the county's website. The house has a large circular driveway with room for 8+ vehicles. Often, guests love the house and property so much that they bring the party there and just relax at home.
